Thou Wast Mild and Lovely

I had the pleasure of working on a beautiful film called Thou Wast Mild and Lovely and we made the New Yorker’s list of The Best Movies of 2014 as well as this great list of 2014 indie gems from Hammer to Nail!

Here’s the trailer–available on Amazon, iTunes, Fandor, & VOD.

Here are some images from the premiere at the 64th Berlinale International Film Festival–

Here are some incredible reviews of the film from it’s premiere:

The New Yorker:
Pay Attention to Josephine Decker
“It’s as if the movie were undergirded by a sense of timeless authority borrowed from scripture.”

Indiewire:
Berlin Review: Sexual Depravity Takes On Nightmarish Proportions In Josephine Decker’s ‘Thou Wast Mild and Lovely,’ Starring Joe Swanberg
“unholy marriage of Ingmar Bergman and David Lynch.”

Smells Like Screen Spirit:

The director, Josephine Decker, was also named one of the 25 New Faces of Independent Film and she is joyous and unique and wonderful. Just like her movies.
